So, I purchased it on Amazon for a great price and took it with on my next vacation. It is a very easy read, with likable characters centered around the 1920's, 30's, and 40's. Great entertainment based on a true story.

Having been brought up in Kenya and spent the best part of my first 38 years there, I found the book very well researched and easy reading. It was frequently difficult to put the book down.
Well written account of the Countess and her life reflecting society at that time. You'll love her and hate her but you won't put the book down.
Very good bio of the mysterious Alice de Janze. The lady is mentioned in so many other books about Happy Valley and what a character she was. I have always hoped someone would write a book about her and here it is. Buy this book and learn about this lady and her world. The famous pix of her with the lion "baby" is worth the price.
