"Because when we give too many f--ks, when we choose to give a f--k about everything, then we feel as though we are perpetually entitled to feel comfortable and happy at all times, that's when life f--ks us." (Mark Manson)
"You and everyone you know are going to be dead soon. And in the short amount of time between here and there, you have a limited amount of f--ks to give. Very few, in fact. And if you go around giving a f--k about everything and everyone without conscious thought or choice - well, then you're going to get f--ked." (Mark Manson)

Book summary overview Mark Manson cuts through the clichés of the self-help industry and depicts life for what it is a series of misadventures and failures that leads to death. He uses crude humor, some wisdom he stumbled on while he was high on acid, and tales of rock stars and deadbeats to diagnose the human condition and offer practical tips for living a good life. His approach is immensely enjoyable and oddly reassuring.

I bought this as a companion to the audio version I was given as a gift by a mentor. While this helps me remember the main ideas of the audio recording without having to go back through the audio files, I would recommend this for that purpose only. It is not a substitute for the full book.Product details

Have the physical English & Dutch versions & the summary on kindle; love them all!
Eye opening on several levels. Checked out from the library and decided I needed to own it as well. Get it.
This basically takes everything of value fun the book and cuts all the douchebag humblebragging and edgelord BS. It makes a good gift to people that always get worked up over crap that doesn't matter.
This summary piqued my interest in such a way that I immediately bought the original book. There are so many great points in this book that I had to get the original to read further into it all. This summary is only 28 pages long, and it doesn’t give away a whole lot, just enough to make sure that you are hooked enough on the general gist of the original that you NEED to read the whole thing! That being said, I’d probably skip the summary entirely and just buy the original! Though I think I will keep the summary as well just for a quick reference to some of my new favorite lines!
This is not the book, but a snapshot of what the actual book contains. The summary is short, sweet, and hilarious and I will be purchasing the book because of it. This read is based on perspective and grasping the positive outlook. It has ideas and advice on how to live without trying to please everyone and how to deal with those (like on social media) that may attack you or try to bring you down seemingly for no reason at all. It is an enlightening, upbeat book, and just the summary alone had some excellent points I hadn't thought of as well as LOL material.
FastReads cranks out another hour-long classic with The Subtle Art of Not Giving a $&%#.
This book was a brief, readable, digestible, and thought provoking essay on the art of embracing failure, difficulty, and pain, and setting aside or I gnoring what is trivial and ancillary in favor of embracing that which actually deserves our time and attention.
I thought that this book contained many pithy truisms, and the chapters were well-summarized with key points that helped me retain the information and carry it out behind the book and into my life.
I wasn't so crazy about the title, but this book taught me not to give a%#$& if sonetging is not worth worrying about, which, I suppose, is a humorous example of irony.
I recommend this pamphlet for this who need the question of imperfections, suffering, and difficulty addressed, and I'm intrigued by the others in the Fast Reads series.
The funny thing about this FastReads summary of The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F--- is that the majority of the original work is about the cutting through the crap and getting to the heart of what you're really feeling and dealing with in life. In a way, that's what this summary does, although it misses out on the poop jokes and vulgarities of the original title. The original work, by Mark Manson, is compelling, funny, and wildly entertaining in and of itself. I believe that you would be doing yourself a disservice to not read the original title. That being said, this summary is only 28 pages long, and provides every relevant point that the original book touches on. This might be a good place to either start or end, if you are wanting to see the author's thoughts laid out all in one go. Still, I would recommend reading this as a supplement to the original text, as it reads like someone had just taken notes for you of everything that the book said in a nutshell. While there is nothing wrong with this, and while those strapped for time will certainly benefit from this summary, I do feel that the full original work is just too good to pass up.
I bought this as a companion to the audio version I was given as a gift by a mentor. While this helps me remember the main ideas of the audio recording without having to go back through the audio files, I would recommend this for that purpose only. It is not a substitute for the full book.
