I've just finished reading 'Darkly Never After', a collection of fairy tales with a twist. It was an interesting read, with some of the stories making an impression, some that made me smile and some that made me think. I enjoyed it immensely and it is a book I would recommend to all adults who enjoy dark tales and short stories. For me it made for a quick read when I didn't want to get caught up in a larger book and end up having a late night. A great coffee table book -) I gave it four and a half stars.
With fairy tales (for adults) and fables, this book is a gathering of some excellent authors' works. Some of the stories make you stop and wonder, others make you want to wander into other worlds, other times.

Thirty-one stories are packed into this book, all deserving to be read. I thoroughly enjoyed all of them, but the first one by author Fatima Stephens brought out all my emotions. Sadness, happiness, anger, frustration, etc...it took me deep into the world she shares with the readers and that then led the way into the other worlds within these stories.

Each and every author in this book has a way of grasping your senses and keeping you reading. It is of 'dark' fairy tales and fables, yet several of them lead to a place where your heart smiles.

Recommended reading to all who like a bit of spook, dark fantasy, faeries, and then some!
